Join us for a special evening with drummer Quincy Davis and special guest, Pianist Marcelo Boccato.
Pianist Marcelo Boccato, Lecturer of Jazz Studies at Baylor University, brings a deeply lyrical and rhythmically rich approach shaped by his Brazilian roots. His work explores the intersection of jazz and Brazilian musical traditions, informed by his scholarly studies of samba, modernism, and African-diasporic influences. His playing blends sophistication with warmth—balancing improvisational freedom and melodic sensitivity.
Drummer Quincy Davis, Associate Professor of Jazz Studies at the University of North Texas, is a seasoned performer and educator whose drumming bridges subtle swing, expressive color, and contemporary edge.
Together with bassist Henry Beal, the trio offers an evening of inspired collaboration—mixing original compositions, Brazilian-inflected grooves, and reimagined jazz standards. Expect an atmosphere both intimate and exploratory, where rhythm and melody engage in conversation.
