It's time for another special tasting and buying event!
We are working with Opolo to bring you a special tasting event on July 2nd.
Can’t make it to the bar that night due to work or travel? We have you covered!
We have planned a special tasting event with Jeff Faber from Opolo. We will have him Zoom in, and he will talk about Opolo, the wines, and lead us on a tasting of the wines. He also has a special blending experience for those attending the tasting. He has picked three of their wines: the Paso Cabernet, the Summit Creek Red Blend, and the Summit Creek Merlot. Both the Merlot and the Blend have recently received some great recognition around the country, and he wants to make sure you have an opportunity to taste and learn more about these wines.
The tasting event starts at 6 PM and will last about 90 minutes.
Everyone will be seated in groups of 4 people to enjoy the tasting and learn about how wine, and in this case, the blend, is created.
If you can’t be here at the wine bar for this event due to travel, or you just can’t get here on time, we have an option for you. As Jeff will be on Zoom, we have put together a three-pack of the wines for you to purchase and pick up in advance of the tasting to take with you. When you purchase a three-pack, we will send you a link to your email so you can join us from wherever you are the evening of July 2 to be part of the tasting and blending party.
This event will be $25 per person, $10 per club member.

Opolo has made some of their specialty wine tasting kits available to purchase as part of the group tasting. This way you can have another tasting experience with the winemaker from your home. These kits come with three 100ml bottles of wine and a special link to join the winemaker to learn more about the wines. These kits are $30 each and can be purchased during your reservation, and we will have them at the bar for pickup.

Tasting Kits are only available to those who reserve seats for the tasting or purchase a 3-pack of the Opolo wines. After the event, if we have any left, we will make those available to the general public to purchase.
Special Tasting to coincide with the launch of the online sale of Opolo Vineyards, which will be available online only at very special pricing on July 1. Jeff Faber from Opolo will lead the tasting and a special blending session, which can be done from anywhere via Zoom or at the bar.
Tasting is Wednesday, July 2 from 6:00-8:00 (starts promptly at 6) and your reservation will get you a taste of 3 wines plus participation in the blending session. The three reds you will be tasting and playing with will be a Merlot, Cabernet, and Red Blend.
Reservations for the tasting are $10/per club member or $25 for other guests. Come enjoy our fun science experiment!

The 2023 Merlot comes from Opolo's Quinn West estate vineyard in the westside Willow Creek District (40%) and the Quinn East estate vineyard in the Estrella District (60%). Quinn West’s calcareous clay soils and marine-moderated microclimate provides an ideal terroir for Merlot, with extended hang times that lasted until November 1 in 2023. The Merlot is one of the vineyard’s original plantings dating back more than 20 years, providing dark fruit tones with ample tannin structure. In contrast, the warmer climate of Quinn East yields Merlot with softer red cherry flavors with lower acidity and high approachability. Together, these sites produce a Merlot with dimension and complexity. A small lot of Cabernet Sauvignon from Quinn Estate rounds out the wine with enhanced concentration.

The Summit Creek Red Blend is composed of fruit from the Opolo eastside Estrella District and westside Willow Creek District estates, as well as Remo Belli Vineyard in the Adelaida District. The wine is a blend of varieties from multiple vintages, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Petit Verdot, as well as Zinfandel, Tempranillo and Petite Sirah. By combining lots from the 2021 to 2023 vintages, this wine delivers bright, fruity youthful flavors with the depth and maturity of extended barrel aging.

At 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Malbec, 7% Syrah, and 5% Petit Verdot, this is a delightful full-bodied and oaky Cab from Paso Robles.
