DJ Rice - Trombone, described as an amalgamation of J.J. Johnson and Curtis Fuller, Dallas-based musician DJ Rice is an elite, award-winning jazz trombonist and composer. With the mentorship of Nick Finzer, Michael Dease, and Rich DeRosa, he creates opportunities for himself and consistently sets a high musical standard for those around him.
Fresh off his set at the 2025 JEN Conference, DJ Rice returns to Steve’s Wine Bar with his quintet. He’ll be premiering a new set of original music while paying tribute to the masters of jazz trombone. Joining him will be Jack Courtright - Trombone, Aakash Sridhar - Piano, Anthony Casolari - Bass, Quincy Davis - Drums
