Saturday, October 18th, the DJ Rice Quintet returns to Steve's Wine Bar with a new set of music. Described as an amalgamation of J.J. Johnson and Curtis Fuller, Dallas-based musician DJ Rice is an elite, award-winning jazz trombonist and composer. With the mentorship of Nick Finzer, Michael Dease, and Rich DeRosa, he creates opportunities for himself and consistently sets a high musical standard for those around him.
DJ Rice, who was recently appointed Adjunct Lecturer of Jazz at UT Tyler, returns to Steve's Wine Bar to celebrate his 30th birthday! He'll be performing new music with some of his favorite musicians and people.
Joining him will be Jack Courtright - Trombone, Min Rojas - Piano, Anthony Casolari - Bass, Colman Burks - Drums
