It's Dinner Time!

It's time for our Third special 5 course dinner, with Chef Lanky.

This special dinner event was developed for our October Wine Club program. This is our third month of using a more "mainstream" approach to wine selection. We have invited Chef Lanky (Anthony Langston), who many know as the recent winner of Secret Chef on Hulu. Lanky is a Denton resident who works as a Cheese Monger at 10:1 Cheese as well as a regular tending bar at Eastside. He does many private events and special dinners in the area. He is cooking up some fun flavors that our wine specialist, Cheryl Hunt and Steve, have picked some great wines to pair with the meal.

This month's wine pairing dinner will take place the evening of Monday the 16th. We are hosting up to 30 people for this plated dinner, served with  wines we have curated for each course. This dinner is open to anyone to participate, club member or not.  For those who are unable to join us, we will have the menu/recipes available to craft the meal at home and pair these wines from the comfort of your kitchen/dinning room.

The menu style is what Chef Lanky calls "Oui-Haw". It's a combination of french techniques with bold Texas, Mexican, and Spanish flavors.

Course 1: "Elote". His spin on the classic street corn dish. This is a bread course with it being sweet cornbread, a savory jalapeno jam, corn butter, cotija cheese, and cilantro powder.

Course 2: Smoked Salmon Tartare. Celery, Apple, and Radish salad. The rich smoke with be mixed into the dressing for the salmon with a light and refreshing bite from the salad. This will be served with beet and potato crisps.

Course 3: Potatas Bravo! This is a take on a classic Spanish dish called Potatas Bravas. Crispy and creamy baked and fried potato with a hollandaise sauce, fried spanish chorizo, chorizo oil, asparagus, micro cilantro, and manchego cheese. This will have some rich, creamy, and mildly spicy flavors.

Course 4: Chicken Mole Risotto. Chicken mousseline with a classic mole sauce on a risotto cake. Caramelized pearl onions, Sesame fried potato sticks. This dish will have a very deep and rich chocolate flavor with a smoky pepper kick.

Course 5: Peach Sorbet with ancho chili whipped cream. Sweet and bright flavor of peach with a touch of heat from the whipped cream.

Doors open at 6pm and you will be greeted with glass of wine to enjoy as we prepare for the dinner. We will serve the first course at 6:30. 

As you enjoy your meal, if you would like a full glass of wine, you are welcome to order a one during, or after the meal. Club members will have the opportunity to choose their two bottles to take with them after the meal, and of course, all the wines will be available for purchase to take with you, or to enjoy at the table. 

Reservations go live at noon on October 1st.

Club members are able to order two tickets at their club level discount. The paired wines for this evening will be considered the monthly club tasting.

Just a note, gratuity for your servers is not included in the price of the dinner. They will greatly appreciate your support.
